Back in November 2024, for “David Wise Month” at Dwelling of Duels, I was able to interview a VGM musician that is truly one of a kind. He’s known for his excellent guitar tone, unapologetic sense of humor, honesty and humbleness. Being able to collaborate with him and nag him into covering one of my favorite Wise tracks for this alternate entry, is something that still feels unreal to me.
What he says about the competition in this excerpt is both true, painful and inspiring. DoD is an excellent community that will also tear down your expectations and make you question your self-worth, to then bring it all back up by helping your skills reach new heights. The important thing is to always believe in the music, and to try to get it out there, both on DoD and elsewhere.
I’m glad I’m able to share Ian‘s incredibly inspired take on Busted Bayou with the world, and I’m grateful for his time and patience. After a rough start of the year catching up with our projects, the full interview is finally coming. So stay tuned!
