Smooooooth playing, especially that sax. It’s really classy and fits the genre exactly. There’s variation in the drums and everything. Everything’s done so well in this track. Really solid.

The way the sax and the piano dance around each other is exquisite. It’s like they’re finishing each other’s sentences. So romantic. Brushy drums are super tasty. No notes.

Very creative jazz arrangement for that background rhythm section, I love that I can tell it’s Stickerbush but it also really feels like its own thing, I think what really does it is the change in time signature, so good call on that. Once you have that rhythmic section locked in everything else comes naturally, have that playing and get a bunch of really talented guys do their thing with their instruments over it and you got yourself a banger. If I had to describe this arrangement with one word, it’ll be “erudite”.

Even as an edge case for theme compliance, I’m so glad this was allowed! I don’t think we had enough jazz this month, so I thank anon for delivering this extremely tasteful rendition of Stickerbush. As I said during the listening party, it’s the sleaziest checkpoint on the internet! I would have pushed that slider all the way to the right if this had been submitted in a more fitting month.

Oooh, and now some more lounge style jazz. Good balance with all the instruments, but it does feels like the drummer loses a slight bit of time in that first fill. Really loving the interplay between the piano and the saxophone – and drum does a good job helping to fill in the rhythm. Could use a little more bass here too – I can tell its there but it doesn’t really show up to help fill out the rhythm section as much. Drummer does a really good job making sure the brushes are clearly audible which is never easy. The drums changing intensity for the ending really helps to drive it home – and letting the piano and bass fade it out with the soundscape is very well done.

Slooowing down, nice. Nice jazz club vibes. I can’t tell but it sounds like maybe there was an edit at 0:40? Or maybe just a live recording artifact. Anyway, this is a great arrangement. Stellar playing all around. Oh man the piano improv at 2:30ish is just stellar. Calling back to the theme but then taking us on a journey. Ahhh the interplay happening around 3:20 is just perfect. Great job. Oh yeah and great drumming too.

Very stylish! I’m not very familiar with the genre but everything sounds appropriate and well thought-out to my ear andthere’s enough variation that it doesn’t become too meandering thanks to the lovely piano which feels very inspired. Sax is perfectly executed.

Smooth jazz Stickerbrush! There’s some very interesting changes made to the original’s structure to fit the style better, like altering the rhytms of the main melodies. Recording sounds great (the snare in particular) and the performances are awesome. Everyone gushed about the sax on the LP but I think everyone sounds really good. I like when you add that slow string like note (1:18 for example), adds some interesting tension. TBH, I always struggle a bit with arrangements like this since they are very static, luckily this one isn’t that long but I can’t deny I kinda lost interest around 2:30 (although that brief silence+speed-up around 3:45 was great). Still, the LP really liked this track! Great job!

Y’all – this sax playing is so smooth. Very “Cool Jazz”
Everyone is killing it on this! Would love to know if anyone of this was recorded simultaneously.
Perfect amount of reverb too and the added layer of that synth string sound was well chosen.
