There’s a lot of storytelling going on this one. This really matches that circus/haunted vibe and everything’s nailed down. Really great arrangement and performance here. It’s quite epic feeling.

Got my house shaking with those low frequencies in the intro. This one takes you places. Unpleasant ones. I feel like a child in a super sketchy circus town, like in Pinocchio when his friend starts turning into a donkey. What a fun and fantastical piece. Really well mixed, really well arranged. Everything in this one sounds good. It’s getting old but this is ANOTHER very well executed concept. big big stuff here. Good job.

I like the horror atmosphere. Cheesy horror that is. Arrangement is pretty stellar. Playing/sequencing feels a little too robotic at points, which is my main gripe with this, I believe this would go REALLY hard with some more loosey live performances and/or some better VSTs. It’s going for a cartoony vibe which makes sense, but some of these sounds feel a little too like soundfonts. The direction the arrangement takes is super well done, though I think you could definitely squeeze more JUICE out of it.

Proper Kirkhope representation! I’m glad that anon was confident enough to submit this. This would be really fitting for a dark carnival, as other pointed out during the listening party. It doesn’t relate to the theme that well, but it was still enjoyable.

Very dark opening, with the suspending bass and the robotic vocals, before getting punctuated by the brass and organ to continue building. I am loving this mashup idea – hearing both the DK Island Swing with that Danny Elfman like Beetlejuice soundtrack. Very interesting taking the base swing feel and giving it that evil carnival feel. Very original and well appreciated anon!

Immaculate creepy vibes in the intro. After that, I feel like I’ve been abducted and forced to watch an evil circus show. It’s quite a fun track but admittedly not my favourite style or vibe which clouds my judgement. The creepy theremin-like synth was a nice touch.
I feel the dry and upfront mid and low brass (which I assume are live) feel a little disconnected from the rest of the mix which is wetter and more pushed back. I would have tried to add more reverb to them to match the backing, or perhaps reduce the reverb on the rest unless it’s baked into the sounds you used. With some more live instruments or better fake ones, this could go from good to great.

Okay, I’m buckling up for wherever this one is going. Ah, hahaha! For that intro I was not expecting spooky dark evil carnival, but I’m here for it! Mix nitpick: bass instruments (piano, tuba?) could come up a tad. I can’t quite tell what’s programmed and what isn’t, which actually is a good thing. I wish it were longer!

Spooky DK theme? I have no idea what to expct… Oh, we move to polka around 0:35, now I know what to expect! This is definitely a very Kirkhope track, I don’t remember the DK64 version of this tune so I dunno how much of the wild harmonies comes from you versus the source but there’s fun stuff in here. Good job!

This track is insane – it’s such a tight Oompah arrangement of Jungle Japes with some neat little theremin sounds too.
I don’t really have much “feedback” to give other than the organ is a little too much on the upper harmonics and it gets a little much to me in those sections.
