A really gentle and intimate delivery of a Suikoden song. I think this hits differently because it’s so sparse.

Harp and vocals is a fun combo! Both are balanced well to each other, and the harp helps drive the rhythms through with the strings backing adding extra color. Second section gives the vocalist even more time to shine as the rhythms become much sparser, giving them the time to drive the piece. Very impressive vocals anon!

Interesting synth choice, it sounds harpy plucky but also kind of like a pan drum, and also kind of like a chip tune? Appreciate the vocal performance but I’m not really feeling it, it mostly stays in tune which is good and most of the way there, but it’s missing a lot of energy, one thing I’d suggest for vocals is to either sing with your chest or purposefully soften your voice, this feels like it’s sort of in the middle, so it’s neither energetic nor calm, and the intention of the performance is not really felt, and almost feels like a voice tone you’d have when speaking rather than singing if that makes sense, with that said keep going for it anon, there’s nothing more expressive than the human voice.

Oh hello vocalist! OK I have some things to say but I am going to finish listening to the whole track first.

Very nice chamber-style arrangement. I have two comments: the first is that this track is a vocal feature. As such, the vocals have to be locked in, and they are pitchy in some spots. I have no qualms with using the technology we have to make the music we want to make, so a pitch correction tool like Melodyne would help a lot here. Compression on the vocals will also help even out the little volume differences.

The second comment is that the backing arrangement is very nice, but also sounds programmed. If it is, some variation in the velocities or whatever signal alters the expression would help a lot. The harp parts sound pretty dope though.

I hope you’ll come back with more!

A quite sparse arrangement. The subtle strings were nice and enough to keep it from feeling unfinished but it could use some more elements here and there to fill things up a bit and break up the monotony.

I admittedly didn’t warm up to the vocal performance. The pitch wanders a bit, but more importantly, the emotion is not quite coming through to me. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe what’s bothering me about it but it feels a little like choral singing rather than a solo performance.

I really appreciate the way this arrangement is not hiding behind anything fancy.

The vocals are a little on the pitchy side- there’s time when it’s really on but then several points where you don’t quite hit the pitch. Your resonance is very consistent so that’s good!! I think some vibrato would sell this particular style a little bit better honestly.

I don’t know your background but get into some musical theatre if you’re not already and really study how they get emotion into their performances. I love the idea behind this it just wasn’t quite selling it just yet. Vocals are tough especially when they’re this exposed.

Don’t know much about singing so reviewing this one is a bit tough. Voice is pitchy in places, so definitely would benefit from some light pitch correction. Not sure if vocally you’re going for a mild 80s post punk thing but that’s where my head goes when I hear your voice. If that IS where you’re going with your voice, then I think the music needs to be a little busier to help lift that kind of vibrato-less style. Also don’t be afraid to record sentence by sentence. There were parts where you seemed to rush from one word to another. I like what you’re doing stylistically, just need to polish it a bit more.

Another vocal track. Background instruments seem to be not particularly high quality samples, but the main focus are clearly the vocals here. I like the passion behind the performance. However, and I don’t want to sound mean about this, the tuning is off at many times. There’s also some pretty big variations in volume that could be ironed out with a compressor. I think you’ve got chops, just gotta work on some of the notes. Good job.
