I love this arrangement!!! Very smart choices with what is playing what and the layering.
The fiddle playing is good – everything else is pretty loose is my only thing. I don’t know if you just tossed together though and with something like this practicing with a band over and over and over would really make it come together which is probably not feasible.

There’s a lot going on on this and there are so many layers and each one is so complicated! Maybe cutting back on the complexity a bit would help balance things out a bit so it’s not as frantic, but then again, maybe the franticness is the point. Accordion, bass, percussion, there’s a lot going on here and kudos for blending it all together and having it all still be clear. The violin solo is great work.

Is this accordion to start? This feels like a fun group of instruments, accordion, some kind of fiddle and maybe a banjo (or guitar of some kind) – with a bass to help drive things through. And even more flute to help the melody here, though the flute does feel a bit drowned out against all the rhythm instruments. Guitar solo is nice and twangy – some good thick strings help match the vibe here. Fiddle solo very fun as well – a nice change of pace here anon!

This sounds really loud, sounds emphasized, I checked the audio spectrum and it doesn’t look like it’s mastered that high but for some reason it comes across as uber loud. (EDIT: this is rounding up to -9 LUFS apparently, maybe too much compression?) Arrangement is really good and VERY dynamic, with so many instruments playing really fast a lot of the time, and they’re mostly well locked in rhythmically. I do think however there’s a mixture of things that are making it harder to really sit back and enjoy, namely the dryness of the mix, the loudness level, and how every instrument sounds like its fighting for the same space. The arrangement and the performances are there, and honestly these are pretty easy fixes, just throw some subtle reverb, lower the volume and space those instruments out in a stereo field and you’ll notice a massive difference. Another thing I’d really love in this arrangement is any sort of percussion at all to really accentuate the rhythm, but it’s not completely necessary.

Alright I have to start by saying this is uncomfortably loud, and not just because of where it fell in the order. I listened to my own track as a palate cleanser and at the same listening volume, this track is loud by comparison. This can amplify spiky higher frequencies which can be uncomfortable. If you are careful, you can do a master this loud, but you have to make sure it doesn’t sound harsh.

OK. Now that I’m listening at a comfortable volume… Love this instrumentation! Accordion?, violin, bass, mandolin?. And now flute? Heck yeah. The playing feels a tad loose in some places, was this recorded entirely live? Impressive if so, though I personally would like some of the looser passages’ timing cleaned up. For example, the bass at 0:48, the violin ascent at 1:00.

At 2 minutes in, I’m feeling like this arrangement needs a changeup. Ah, there it is, fiddle solo! Perfect. I think I’d still like some variation in the backing instruments though. Very cool track overall!

Some lovely textures and instruments performances here! I love the descending melody thing at 1:02-1:08, it’s the most memorable part of the arrangement to me.

Speaking of which, the overall arrangement could use some restraint, right now it feels a little hectic and busy with lots of instruments fighting for the attention at all times, which is not helped by the fact that they’re all quite upfront in the mix. Leaving some more space for a main melody instrument to shine would do it wonders I feel.

I would’ve liked some kind of low percussion to support the rhythm, although the bass is already a satisfactory job tying it all together.

Another super fun one. This is another one that has HUGE potential but comes up a bit short in a few ways. The overall mix is very aggressive which I wouldn’t say fits this style of music. Kind of the opposite issue of the megaman 7 track. I think this one needs a bit of taming. Another thing is it doesn’t feel like the performances are super tight with one another. Individually great but, not super locked in to the “band”. I love all the things that are happening at once but maybe when one instrument steps up to shine, the others need to reduce intensity. Bass is solid and bonks the rhythm along fantastically. Good job overall anon, I hope we get a polished version of this one, as it’s really good.

Volume contrast goddamn… This track is very loud. Main instrument is an accordion? Everything’s so loud I’m having a hard time separating the sounds properly. I can hear strings, guitar, bass and the “accordion”. Performances seem good, very quick pace.
This seems like a fun cover overall but the production hampers it a ton. I hope we get a softer version sometime.
