Fake out intro that only us VGM afficionados would get. It would pass as either (or both) from either game! Performed very well, with lots of emotion and expression. I feel like I want to hear this performed in real life one day.

Very VERY nice and mellow tone from the piano. Sounds great. Playing is just dynamic enough to be emotive but not so much as to startle. I could fall asleep to this. Wonderful piece, I love it. You may be the person I call when I need piano for a piece.

That piano sound is so soft and so tender and so subtle it almost sounds like a harp, that’s really cool. The playing is very sophisticated, like I can tell the hands are moving in a very delicate way through the keys, it helps that there’s not a strict tempo to it and the hands play this at a very loose and free timing, letting the vibes and feel of the song carry the beat. Very strong performance and, quite honestly, a flex.

No, anon did not forget to credit a source. It’s actually a cheeky case of near plagiarism on Capcom‘s behalf, since this Breath of Fire 3 source originally sounds like Chrono Trigger‘s “Secret of the Forest”. Anon takes advantage and quotes it directly right at the end. Some really beautiful piano playing, the arrangement is quite uplifting and full of hope.

Nice piano arpeggios in the right hand, though it feels like the left hand might be just slightly out of sync at points against the arpeggios – unless there is some intentional rubato in there. Sound quality is excellent, and all parts of the piano come through cleanly. Reverb is also very well handled by this setup. Very nice and expressive performance anon.

I know nothing about piano but this feels very tasteful all the way through. The piano sound used is also excellent, the high notes are so beautiful.

I tend to like a good, loud climax in a piano piece. This didn’t exactly have one but was rather restrained all the way through in terms of dynamics, but I can’t exactly hold that against it. It’s a great relaxing listen.

Solo piano piece, nice. Mix sounds nice. This may be my unfamiliarity with solo piano but I feel like I lose the rhythm in the left hand sometimes. It’s much more “stable” at 2:17 on through the end. Overall I dig it. Nice dynamics, beautiful piece.

Is this a mashup or is the original legit this similar to Secret of the Forest lol?. In any case, nice piano playing. The actual piano sound is a little too bright for me sometimes, but it sound great either way. I love how the arrangement features different piano styles, from left hand arpeggios to some more rhytmic chords. There’s also some nice chords and usage of low/high notes. My only nitpick is that it’s a tad long and some sections are repeated a fair amount of times. It’d have been fun to have some key/rhytm changes to surprise the listener on the final repeats.
Overall, lovely job! A very well done piano solo.

I decided to search “breath of fire forest” and am agog — how did Capcom get away with that one???

I don’t have too much feedback on this as I am very unfamiliar with solo piano arrangements. I will say the chord choices are very nice! Did this get recorded in one take as a free-form improv or did you actually arrange with some sheet music etc?

Anyway nice job – this is going on my chill out playlist.
