When You’re Lost in the Forest, the Trees Will Laugh Back at You

This has some weirdness to it. It’s glitchy and lo-fi and it fits so well with the material. The strings glue things together. This is super interesting. The extended silence in the middle is GREAT – breaks up the beat a bit but also adds some really unexpectedness. I’m into this.

Love the choice of the music box opening, gives a very haunted forest vibe. The drums don’t feel super in sync – while its intentional it just distracts a bit for me. The soundscapes though are nice, continuing to give that haunted woods vibe. Guitar and violin coming in give a nice change of feel. The drums start to settle in as it gets more complex, but probably also helps the music box fading away helps provide a bit of time consistency. I don’t know what instrument or sound that is around 2:30 but it sure is something very interesting. Then the drop into the transition at 3:06 is pretty powerful, moving more to an electronic vibe. This feels a lot tighter in the second half, really digging how it grooves. This did feel like a few ideas slammed together, but generally it was cohesive.

Oh man this atmosphere is fantastic, it feels like a forest but an alien planet instead of earth, SO much ear candy, I love that plucky music box sound. Lofi groovy drums fit this well and makes me move my head to the beat. This also sounds kind of intense in a way? Like I’m entering a haunted forest or expecting something bad to happen. Production is honestly off the charts with this one, everything hits hard and everything sounds crystal clear and well balanced, this is something I like to call “masterclass”. Arrangement is fantastic as well, it clearly moves from place to place like its intentionally telling me a story, with different things coming in and out with smooth transitioning. It also sounds really fucking unique!! The drop at 3:05 hit me like a fucking mule. If there’s anything I can nitpick about this one is that I’m not entirely sure which of these instruments is being performed live, but other than that, fuck yeah anon, this is incredible, you really have a knack for unique and crazy sound design.

Dreamy intro. Whoa what is that sound at 0:18? Oh are we going lofi? Wow, 1:00 is spooky. Love the beat changeup at 1:20ish. This is SO interesting. At halfway through I wonder where we’re going? And the answer is at 3:00, heck yeah, that drop was SICK.
Alright so, I loved every second of this for the dynamics and soundscape. However… even though I loved every second, I also think that at a length of 5:30, I wish for some harmonic and melodic variation since each section is a texture change. Paradox? Maybe…
I am a rock/prog guy, though, so… I acknowledge my bias here. :p That said, this is definitely a standout track for me!

This is chock full of nice details and ideas, and the production is tight and interesting with some strange (in a good way) stereo image shenanigans. The intense 2nd half works so well.
It leaves me wondering which part is live. I’m assuming a bunch of synths if not everything? Either way, I’m impressed.

I cannot believe you got this much out of like 30 seconds of source tune and kept my interest for 5 minutes.
Good lord dude. no other commentary on this one sorry if you were looking for any critique.

looove the creepy forest vibe you’ve set throughout. It sounds very good the entire time. It’s dynamic. It has so many things to listen to in the soundscape. Fantastic ambience. It’s a TAD long considering it’s just the lost in the forest theme the entire time. But this isn’t a genre I listen to, to that’s probably just personal.

This track is impressive as hell, taking the like 20 seconds of the original and transforming them into a 5 minute epic electronic track with a ton of moods and changes! Love the spooky moods in the first minute, the percussion in the second one, the sick slightly detuned synths around 2:00 but mostly the insane drop around 3 minutes in.
No nitpicks from me here, easily one of the best tracks of the month. Awesome job!
