That’s some really cool vocal work – the processing is great and fits the NieR soundtrack vibe really well. The vocals really make this one stand out. I feel like the backing elements are a tad too quiet and that they could be integrated more with the vocals. This could easily fit into the official material!

So glad to see this source here, I love this game and while I love this tune I rarely see it brought up ever. Love how you transported the main motif to piano, very steady playing too. Vocal harmonies are pretty much immaculately performed, I could definitely see you performing in the official Nier orchestra. There’s a few things I’m not quite huge on in this arrangement, I think the drums don’t really fit this, I know the percussion in the original is hard to replicate, but the standard rock groove doesn’t really do it for me in this kind of context, it clashes with the atmospheric vibe the rest of the song tries to go for and it sticks out. The other thing I’m not super sold on is how conservative the arrangement is, it pretty much replicates the original to a T and while it’s pretty well done, it kinda leaves me wanting a more personal touch. With all of that said this is still solidly executed and it’s pleasant to listen to.

Piano, mallets and flute to start off here. Man a lot of flute this month, my wife would be happy. This one feels nice and atmospheric, with the flute helping to pop in bits of melody here and there. Then the vocals come in with a bang – very well balanced against each other and the other instruments (though some of the effects make it feel a touch robotic – but I guess appropriate given the source material). Drums help to build the intensity without being too overpowering, and the guitar is very clean. Love some of the lower intensity rim click patterns as things fade into the end. Well done!

Nice choir, love how it sounds. Drumkit sounding nice and percussive. Acoustic sounds beautiful where it’s sitting in the mix. Nice job. Ah yeah, love those sticks on the rim. The lead electric guitars around 2:50 sound nice but are reaaaally far back in the mix. Bring them forward! And maybe mix them darker to fit the rest of the tune since they will inevitably sound harsher when they come forward. Otherwise, great mix.

Love the vocal performance and production, and the soundscape they create with the piano and other elements is immaculate.

Snare sound could have some more weight and tail to it, right now it’s a little “popcorn”-sounding. Furthermore, with the punchy kick, I feel like the mix is asking for a bass instrument where the drums play to glue the drums to the rest of the mix.

This one is my other top track. God those vocals are to die for. I love this one so much. Its dead simple, loads of space in the mix and arrangement. What is this harmonized vocal style called? Something bulgarian? It’s very similar to what is used in Ghost in the Shell. Either way this is probably my gold of the month. yes. CRUSHED GOLD FOR YOU

This track made me feel incredible throughout the listen. Those vocals are so tightly recorded.

My only feedback here is I think the vocals being so upfront the whole time takes away from the dynamics of the track. They definitely could be quieter when the drums aren’t there – I think they’re still a little hot (for me but I recognize I tend to mix vocals less upfront than I should at times) but they definitely match the dynamics of the piece better at 3:00 than they do earlier in the tune.

    Amazing job though seriously.

In a month full of atmospheric tracks this may somehow be the most atmospheric one? Begins with some plucky arpeggios which are joined by a string melody. Arpeggios continue for a while before the string returns and is joined by vocals. There’s some really cool effects on them to make them sound ethereal, lovely. I really like the chord progression here. Around 1:50 percussion and an acoustic guitar enter and we continue on an atmospheric mood. I haven’t played NieR but I could totally see this track working as a perfect actual VGM song, I can imagine myself going through Xenoblade areas while this plays.
Overall, excellent track! Very moody and atmospheric.
